very superstitious...

my left eye has been twitching all day. how hot does that sound? please try and control yourself, i know it must be hard (he he).

anyway, my beautiful friend and colleague fleur told me that she heard that this means something. she looked kinda weird when she said it too. her eyes rolled back into her head and then she levitated for a few seconds.

so after i felt it was safe to return to my office, i googled "eye" + "twitch" + "superstition" in search of the real meaning behind my current rabid-junkie-retard state.

i found hundreds of tree-hugging hippy sites claiming to answer all life's great mysteries. half of those i visited said that a twitching left eye means good luck is a-coming. the other half claimed that it heralds horrible times ahead.

however, there were also claims that if you dream of someone nude, someone you know is going to die. and that if you have sex in your dream, then you are married to a spirit.

well, noone i know has died today (nor yesterday, nor the day before, nor the day before that. get the point?). and i am certainly not living in marital bliss with my thousand spirit-spouses. so i think i'll put my eye-twitching down to random wacky bodily functions.

and maybe stay off the drugs for awhile.

Hah, I have a decidedly twitchy left eye. I had always put this down to neurological damage stemming from excessive drug consumption.

Some thoughts:

1) Too much X, E, Ecstacy perhaps?

2) Probably nothing.

3) I love that you didn't go to a medical source to find the answer but rather to hippie superstitionsville.

4) I think after reading this blog post I will be married to a spirit tonight.

5) How did they come across your blog? Stupid family. I think my mom secretly reads mine too.

6) It's fun not to care what other people think. We should get together and not care with others... and take drugs... and all our clothes off, then I'll run the video camera while y'all fill up the spa. Oh, right, my wife. I think you can talk her into it. She's just itching for a womanly touch.

my left eye's been twitching the whole day today. being an asian myself, it really does mean something. to be precise (for the olden days chinese fortune teller), you actually need to take note of the hour it happens as well, in order to predict any incident which will accure.
well anyway, the reading is diffent for males and females.
for the females:-

1. top left eye lid twitch; means fortune (little or lots).
2. lower left eye twich; you could be crying later.
3. top right eye twitch; FOOD..treats coming your way.
4. lower right eye twitch; sorry, no info on that, but it's always a bad sign.

for the male, all i know is that if the upper right eye twiched, it means fortune and vice versa. any lower eye twiching is not a good omen.

Hm, all the above comments are very interesting. I don't know what to think when my eye twitches. All i remeber is one time my right eye was twitching like made because i was waiting for for some results to come back, when the time came it was complete and utter bad news therefore i came to conclusion that if my right eye twitched it meant bad luck, But then my left eye was twitching and i didn't recieve any type of good luck. So i was left confused.
Therefore i asked someone who was much older and wiser to explain to me what eye twitching meant, she told me that when a womans right eye twitches it is bad luck and when her left eye twitches it's good luck, but this is the opposite for men. But then when i asked my mum she told me the complete opposite. Recently i read some articles about eye twitching and the medical explanation for this twitching is stress, which i think i was feeling that day because i had so much pressure on me. Other causes are starring at the tv or computer screen for too long, lack of sleep etc.

I went to this site to find a solution to my left 'eye' upper lid (btw) but find that there doesn't seem to be any solution. It's uncomfortable but if there is a prospect of good luck, I'll live with it!!

My left eye upper lid started twitching 2 weeks into a European backpacking trip in Sept. I attributed it to lack of sleep, increased alcohol consumption, dehydration, and stress of not having a job to come home to. 4 weeks later, I was at home looking for a job, and it was still twitching. Stress?

It stopped after another couple of weeks, I didn't even really notice it disappeared. Still no job.

Found a job, started working, it started twitching again. Not really stressed, well rested, hydrated.

Just now, my right upper lid just started to twitch.
